Fatal Arson Investigation in Pike County

(Pikeville, KY)- Post 9 received a call of a structure fire at a residence belonging to William Ratliff. Upon Shelby Valley Fire Department's arrival it was learned that an occupant was still inside of the residence. After extingushing the fire the victim was located. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Pike County Deputy Coroner Zeb Hampton. The victim's name will not be released unitl positive identification has been made. Still under investigation by Arson Investigator Detective Don Parker. Detective Parker was assisted at the scene by State Fire Marshalls Office, Shelby Valley Fire Department, and DHP Ambulance Service.
