Murder Investigation & Arrest in Floyd County

(Pikeville, KY)- On May 24, 2008 at 1:10 am EST Pikeville Post 9 received a call regarding a structure fire at Luke Woods Drive off of KY 80 in the Bull Creek Community of Floyd County.

Troopers Whitaker and Russell responded to the scene and found the residence engulfed in flames. Tom Bentley, 46 year of age, was located inside the residence, deceased. The preliminary investigation revealed that Mr. Bentley had been shot one time prior to the fire. Based on the investigation, Troopers were able to locate the suspects. Tim Marsillett and Richard Adkins were both charged with Murder and lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center.

This incident is believed to be drug related and remains under investigation by Detective Mike Goble.
