Fatal Collision on KY RT 80 in Floyd County

(Pikeville, KY) - James R. Bevins was traveling east on KY RT 80 and struck the rear end of a loaded eighteen wheeler owned by Ramco Trucking Company that was also traveling in the eastbound lane of KY RT 80. Both vehicles were traveling in their proper lane of traffic. The commercial vehicle was inspected at the scene by Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement Officers Randy Ferrell and Neil Johnson. James R. Bevins was pronounced dead at the scene by Floyd County Deputy Coroner Roger Rowe. Accident still under investigation by Trooper Shaun Little.
