Jackson County Death Investigation Update

(Richmond, KY) - The Kentucky State Medical Examiner's Office has identified the two persons found inside a burned vehicle in Jackson County on October 19th, 2008. The victims are Christopher R. Wicker, age 31 of McKee and Patricia Gabbard, age 51, also of McKee. The State Medical Examiner's Office has determined both victims died from smoke inhalation. The fire appears to be accidental, and the possible cause was a propane lantern that was being used as a light and heat source within the vehicle. Next of kin have been notified. The investigation is ongoing.
