Date of News Release: 09/02/2008
(Richmond, KY) - The Kentucky State Police Post 7 Richmond has arrested one suspect in connection with a string of residential burglaries in Madison County. The suspect, Donald Paul McIntosh, age 32 of Irvine was arrested after a traffic stop conducted by Trooper Doug Cole on the Eastern Bypass in Richmond. A knife stolen in one of these burglaries was recovered in the suspect's vehicle. Donald McIntosh was charged with three counts of Burglary 2nd and was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center. These burglaries occurred on Crooksville Road, College Hill Road and Shearer Lane in Madison County. McIntosh is possibly involved in other residential burglaries that occurred in Clark, Estill, Madison, Montgomery, Powell and Rockcastle Counties. These burglaries occurred between June and September of this year. This arrest occurred after Detective Chris Short and Detective Brian Reeder compiled information and leads from other KSP uniformed troopers and KSP detectives who were investigating numerous residential burglaries in Madison and Estill Counties. The detectives then conducted an analysis of the crimes and saw several common patterns emerge from them. Through the information gathered suspects were identified. The investigation is continuing and more arrests are expected.
