Robbery 1st & Assault 1st Investigation in Madison County

(Richmond, KY) - On 03/23/2008 at 6:51 p.m., Troopers of the Kentucky State Police Post 7, Richmond, responded to the report of an hispanic male on John Ballard Road who was seeking assistance for his friend. An hispanic male appeared at a residence seeking help for his friend, but could not communicate very well due to the langauge barrier.
Troopers determined someone had been shot after finding a vehicle on John Ballard Road that had blood around it. Troopers were able to track the trail of blood and with the assistance of a Richmond P.D. K-9 unit ,they located an hispanic male in a wooded area. He was suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to Pattie A. Clay Hospital for treatment. A spanish speaking Trooper was able to interview the victim and it was determined that the victim was robbed by three black males who were driving a gold, full size SUV, possibly a Chevrolet Tahoe or a Cadillac Escalade. The vehicle will have damage to the front end. No other description of the suspects or suspect vehicle is available.

The victim's injuries are not life threatening. The case remains under investigation by Detective Joie Peters.
