Fatal Collision on I-71

(Campbellsburg, KY) - On Saturday, December 6th, 2008, at approx. 8:30 AM, a fatal accident happened on I-71 near the 68 milemarker. There was freezing precipitation causing the roadway to become slick and hazardous. According to the preliminary investigation, a 1996 Dodge pickup, operated by Charles A. Wohlfrom, age 43 from Cincinnati, Ohio, was traveling on I-71 when the pickup crossed the median and struck a 2003 Jeep, operated by Deborah Corum, from Shelbyville, Ky., head-on. Mr. Wohlfrom was transported by Verona EMS to St. Lukes Hospital-West, where he was pronounced dead. Ms. Corum was uninjured. Both operators were reportedly wearing their seatbelts.
