2 Suspects Arrested and Money Recovered in Theft Case

(Campbellsburg, KY) - On September 2nd, 2008, Kentucky State Police Post 5 Campbellsburg conducted an extensive investigation in reference to a $214,000.00 Theft by Deception case. Two arrests have been made and approx. $168,000.00 in cash was recovered after a search warrant was served on the suspect's home in Milton, Ky. The suspects are George Michael True, 33 yrs old, and his wife Angela M. True, 32 yrs old. Both are originally from Madison, Indiana, however, they have recently been renting a residence on Agin Way in Milton, Ky. The suspects allegedly were scamming a subject out of his money with promises of the female suspect being the victim's companion. The two together were to purchase a residence in Florida that after investigation was determined not to exist. The male suspect acted as the female's brother to assist with the scam. They are both charged with Theft by Deception and Theft by Failure to Make Required Disposition-Over $300. They have both been lodged at the Carroll County Regional Detention Center. Detective Kevin Johnson is the lead investigator on these cases. He was assisted on the "Sting" and search by Det. Sgt. Vic Hubbuch, Sgt. Jeremy Murrell, TFC. Chip Perry, and Tpr. Charlie Kelton.
