State Trooper's Cruiser Hit on I-71

An image of Trooper Rick Ellis(Campbellsburg, KY) - On Monday, June 30, 2008 at 1055 A.M. Kentucky State Police Trooper Rick Ellis was on a traffic stop in the southbound lane of Interstate 71 at the 32 mile marker in Henry County with emergency equipment activated. Trooper Ellis was sitting in his cruiser when a southbound commercial vehicle failed to move over to the fast lane and side swiped the cruiser. Tpr. Ellis suffered minor injuries and was transported to Baptist North East Hospital by Henry County EMS.

The commercial truck was being operated by Ala Hussin Alibrahimy from Dearborn, Michigan and he was not injured. Alibrahimy was cited for reckless driving.

The collision is currently under investigation by Kentucky State Police Sergeant Vic Hubbuch. Additional assistance at the scene was provided by the Henry County EMS and the Campbellsburg Fire and EMS.
