Hart County Jail Death Investigation

(Bowling Green) - KSP Post 3 received a call on August 1st at 01:15 hours in regards to an unresponsive female at the Hart County Jail. Marita Whitehead was an inmate at the facility. She was located unresponsive by Jail Staff and was transported to Caverna Memorial Hospital. Ms. Whitehead was then air lifted to University of Louisville Hospital where she later died around 1 a.m. Eastern Time on August 2^nd. Ms. Whitehead was taken to The Medical Examiners Office in Louisville & an autopsy was performed earlier this date (08/02/08). Details about the incident & ongoing investigation are not being released at this time.
