Assault 1st, Burglary 1st & Violation of a DVO Investigation

(Bowling Green) - On 07-08-2008 at approximately 1700 hours the Kentucky State Police received a call for assistance in Horse Cave.
Troopers and Detectives responded to a call at 1784 Charlie Moran Highway in Horse Cave on a shooting complaint. The resident had called 911 because her ex-boyfriend, Michael Cobb also of Horse Cave, was attempting to break into her residence.
Hart County Sheriff Boston Hensley was the first law enforcement officer on the scene and found that Cobb had allegedly thrown a chair through the victims sliding glass door in an attempt to gain entry into the residence to assault the victim.
Ms. Hodges fired several shots at Cobb as he entered the residence striking Cobb multiple times. Cobb was able to assault the victim by cutting her with a knife and biting her. After the assault the victim was able to escape the residence just before law enforcement units arrived.
Ms. Hodges had obtained an EPO against Cobb on 06-30-2008.
Hodges was transported by EMS to Caverna Memorial Hospital where she was treated and released. Cobb was transported by EMS to T.J. Samson Hospital in Glasgow, but was later flown to U of L Hospital by Air Evac. Cobb has underwent surgery for multiple gunshot wounds and is currently in stable condition.
Warrants have been obtained for Cobb charging him with Assault 1st Degree, Burglary 1st Degree and Violation of a DVO.
