Fatal Accident on KY 100/KY 585 in Allen County

(Bowling Green, KY) - Mr. Thomas Germany was observed speeding in Scottsville city limits by Scottsville Police. The officer attempted to initiate a stop, but Mr. Germany accelerated while leaving the city limits of Scottsville.

The Scottsville Officer then initiated his emergency equipment and siren, and called into dispatch that a pursuit had been initiated. The Scottsville Officer was joined by Deputy Danny Davis, a Allen County Sheriff's Unit.

The pursuit continued onto KY 100 with the Sheriff's Deputy taking the lead in the pursuit. When the pursuit lead to the intersection of KY 100 and KY 585, Mr. Germany stopped in the middle of the roadway, Mr. Germany then accelerated again turning northbound onto KY 585.

In the 500 block of KY 585, Mr. Germany left the roadway and entered a field traveling downhill. Deputy Davis also entered the field continuing the pursuit. During the pursuit, Mr. Germany lost control of his motorcycle directly in front of Deputy Davis. Deputy Davis attempted to stop his vehicle, but was unable to do so due to the terrain, and struck Mr. Germany.

Mr. Germany was pronounced dead at the scene by the Allen County Deputy Coroner.
