Injury Collision on I-65 in Warren County

(Bowling Green) - Clyde Schmelzer was northbound on I-65 near mile marker 16 in the right lane. According to a witness Mr. Schmelzer's vehicle ran off the right shoulder of the roadway down a slight embankment striking a tree with the tractor portion. Mr. Schmelzer's vehicle overturned after impact and came to final rest off the right shoulder of the roadway against a tree. Mr. Schmelzer had to be extricated by mechanical means. He was flown via Air Evac to Vanderbilt Hospital and is listed in critical condition.
