Felony Drug Arrest in Muhlenberg County

Madisonville, KY - Kentucky State Police Troopers were conducting a Traffic Safety Checkpoint on KY 70 East at the intersection of Railroad Street. Tracy D. Piper drove up to the checkpoint and was subsequently arrested by Trooper Brandon McPherson for DUI and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended operators license. Trooper McPherson noticed the passenger, Angelia Avery, attempting to hide items while he was placing Mrs. Piper under arrest. After a search of the vehicle, Trooper McPherson located methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia that Ms. Avery was attempting to hide. Both subjects were lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center.
