Injury Collison on US 41 & Arrest in Hopkins County

(Madisonville, KY) - David Rakestraw was operating a 1998 Peterbilt tractor-trailer. He was turning onto northbound US41 from Tippett Road. William Griffin was operating a 2000 Ford F-150 northbound on US41 and ran into the rear of Rakestraw's vehicle. Mr. Griffin was transported by ambulance to the Regional Medical Center Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Mr. Rakestraw was not injured. Mr. Rakestraw was arrested at the scene and charged with the offenses of Operating on Suspended Operator's License, Failure to Surrender Suspended Operator's License & Failure to Maintain Required Insurance. He was lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
