Muhlenberg County Standoff

Greenville, KY (Muhlenberg County) - On Thursday, November 6, 2008 at approximately 10:57 a.m., Probation and Parole and the Muhlenberg County Sheriff's Department arrived at a residence located at 329 Jones Lane to execute arrest warrants on Anthony J. Ridley, age 45 of Greenville, KY. Upon their arrival, Mr. Ridley fled the residence on foot. At this time, the Kentucky State Police's assistance was requested.

Mr. Ridley was located at a residence in the 2200 block of KY 890 a short time later, but refused to come out. After repeated efforts to encourage Mr. Ridley to come out were unsuccessful, the Kentucky State Police Special Response Team and the Kentucky State Police K-9 Section made entry into the residence. Mr. Ridley was taken into custody at approximately 1:20 a.m. on Friday, November 07, 2008. Mr. Ridley was transported to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital where he was treated and released. He was charged with the following offenses:

  1. Burglary 1st Degree (B Felony)
  2. Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree-4 counts (D Felony)
  3. Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon (C Felony)

He was lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center.

The Muhlenberg County Sheriff's Department, the Central City Police Department and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
