Drug Investigation & Arrest in Hopkins County

(Madisonville, KY) - On October 2, 2008, Kentucky State Police received a complaint of a man arguing and yelling over the phone about drugs and money in front of the Hanson Pantry. The subject was acting strangely, and scaring the patrons and store personnel. Trooper Komar arrived and found the subject still on the phone, pacing at the side of the store. The subject, Lawrence Kinney II, was acting strangely and acted like he was trying to hide something in his pocket. A search was done of Mr. Kinney and a corner baggie of suspected methamphetamine was found in is pocket as well as drug paraphernalia used for smoking methamphetamine. Mr. Kinney was placed under arrest and charged with Possession Of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Meth), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 1st Offense, Public Intoxication Controlled Substance and Disorderly Conduct 2nd Degree. Mr. Kinney was lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center.
