Murder Arrest in Muhlenberg County

Powderly, KY (Muhlenberg County) - On Thursday, September 04, 2008, Kentucky State Police Detective Daniel Morck arrested An image of William CessnaWilliam L. Cessna, age 39, of Powderly, KY in reference to the death of Kline E. Watkins, age 47, of Powderly, KY. Mr. Cessna was charged with Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence and Assault 4th Degree. Mr. Cessna is currently lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center.

On Thursday, September 04, 2008, at approximately 1:30 a.m., the Kentucky State Police Post 2 Madisonville received a call from Muhlenberg County Central Dispatch in reference to a deceased male located at 957 Hillside Road in Powderly. The deceased male, Kline E. Watkins, had apparently been shot. Information obtained through the course of the investigation, led Detective Morck to obtain arrest warrants for Mr. Cessna.

An autopsy is being performed today at the State Medical Examiner's Office in Madisonville.

The Powderly Police Department, the Greenville Police Department, the Central City Police Department, the Muhlenberg County Sheriff's Department and the Muhlenberg County Coroner's Office assisted. The investigation is continuing by the Kentucky State Police.
