Cultivating Marijuana Arrest in Hopkins County
Date of News Release: 09/02/2008
(Hopkins County) - On August 27, 2008 at approximately 12:00 p.m., the Kentucky State Police Marijuana Eradication Strike Force located marijuana plants growing behind the residence of 1680 Fiddlebow Road in Dawson Springs. While the strike force was cutting the plants, a male subject pulled into the residence. A female then pulled into the residence and advised troopers that she lived there. Troopers obtained a search warrant for the residence. Just prior to executing the search warrant, the owner of the residence, Carroll Rickard, arrived. The search warrant was executed. Troopers located 5 marijuana plants in an indoor grow. Troopers also located marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside the residence.
Carroll W. Rickard age 49 of Dawson Springs was charged with 1) Cultivating Marijuana 5 Plants or More, 2) Possession of Marijuana, 3) Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 2nd Offense, 4) Possession of Radio That Sends/Receives Police Messages & 5) Prescription Controlled Substance Not In Proper Container. Matthew Rickard age 28 of Manitou was charged with 1) Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 1st Offense & 2) Prescription Controlled Substance Not In Proper Container. Patresa T. Richardson age 36 of Dawson Springs was charged with DUI 2nd Offense-Aggravated. All three were lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center.
