Felony Drug Arrest in Hopkins County

Date of News Release: 08/16/2008

(Madisonville, KY.) - On August 15, 2008, at approximately 1856 hours, Trooper Derek Smith, U/862, observed Jarrod Carroll, 31, of White Plains, KY, operating his vehicle without wearing his seatbelt. Trooper Smith stopped the vehicle on US 62 in the City limits of White Plains. Through further investigation, Mr. Carroll was found to have Methamphetamine in his possession. Several items of Drug Paraphernalia were also located inside his vehicle. Mr. Carroll was arrested and transported to the Hopkins County Detention Center where he was processed and lodged. He was charged with Failure to Wear Seat Belt, Operating on Suspended Operators License, Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st Degree 2nd Offense Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 2nd Offense, Operating Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs/Etc. 1st Offense, Tampering with Physical Evidence.
