Cultivating Marijuana Over 5 Plants Arrest in Hopkins County

Madisonville, KY - Trooper Carlo Anderson, Trooper Jason Newby, Trooper Matthew Foster, Trooper Billy Sumner & Sergeant Brandon Hammers were conducting marijuana eradication enforcement in Hopkins County. At approximately 1020 hours, units in a Kentucky State Police aircraft observed marijuana growing behind the residence of 1679 Brown Badgett Loop. Ground units went to the residence and spoke with the only occupant inside, Mr. Jimmie L. Jones. Mr. Jones admitted to ownership of the marijuana growing behind the residence and also informed officers of marijuana plants growing inside the residence. While inside the residence, officers located 70 marijuana plants, 6 firearms, drug paraphernalia, and processed marijuana. Approximately 95 marijuana plants in all were located in and around the property. Mr. Jones was lodged in the Hopkins County Jail on the charges of Cultivating Marijuana over 5 Plants, Poss. Of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 1st .
