Drug Arrest on US 41 in Christian County

Madisonville, KY - While traveling southbound on US 41A, Tpr. Mark Franklin observed two vehicles racing northbound. Tpr. Franklin initiated a traffic stop on both vehicles. One of the vehicles was a 1991 Dodge Shadow that was operated by Guy Elliott. While speaking with Mr. Elliott, Tpr. Franklin noticed a bag of marijuana lying in the back of the vehicle. Tpr. Franklin arrested Mr. Elliott. During a search of Mr. Elliott, rolling papers were found on his person. Mr. Elliott was charged with the offenses of Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 1st Offense, Racing, Speeding, No Insurance, No Seatbelt & Failure to Notify DOT of Address Change. Mr. Elliott was lodged in the Christian County Detention Center. The driver of the other vehicle was cited to court for traffic offenses.
