Drug Arrest in Crittenden County

(Crittenden County) - On Thursday, May 15, 2008 at approximately 8:38 p.m., troopers from the Kentucky State Police Post 2 Madisonville responded to a complaint on Pleasant Hill Road. Upon arriving, the troopers detected a strong chemical odor. Consent to search the trailer was obtained. Inside the trailer, troopers located 6 marijuana plants, marijuana, growing lights, growing trays and other items of drug paraphernalia. Outside of the trailer, an active methamphetamine lab was discovered.
Carl R. Belt Jr. was arrested without incident and charged with Cultivating Marijuana More Than 5 Plants, Possession of Marijuana & Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 1st Offense. Beverlie S. Belt was also arrested and charged with Manufacturing Meth 1st Offense, Possession Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense-Meth & Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 2nd Offense. Both were lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center. Officers from the KSP DESI West section dismantled and performed the clean up of the lab.
