Drug and DUI Arrest in Muhlenberg County

(Muhlenberg County) - Troopers observed a vehicle on US 431 driving in a reckless manner. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle and it was found to be driven by John Gilbert of Elkton, Kentucky. After interviewing Mr. Gilbert, it was determined that he was under the influence. He was then placed under arrest and a search of his vehicle by State Police K-9 resulted in the discovery of Methamphetamine, Marijuana, and several items of drug paraphernalia. Mr. Gilbert was also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine), Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 1st Offense, Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs 1st Offense, Failure to Wear a Seatbelt, Failure of Non-Owner Operator to Maintain Required Insurance 1st Offense and lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center.
