Felony Arrest on KY 109 in Hopkins County

(Hopkins County) - Trooper Dennis was traveling north on KY 109 when arriving at the scene of a vehicle in a ditch. The front of the vehicle was partially blocking the south bound lane of travel. The operator of the vehicle, Shawn A. Powell, said he had run out of gas. During the investigation, Trooper Dennis determined that Mr. Powell was under the influence and placed him under arrest. Mr. Powell also had a 2 year old juvenile passenger who was not restrained in a child restraint device.
