Single Vehicle Injury Collision in Hopkins County

(Madisonville, KY) - Johnny D. Williams, of Manitou, KY, was traveling Northbound on the Pennyrile Parkway near the 38 mile marker on his 1983 Yamaha Motorcycle. Mr. Williams stated that he noticed a deer run from the right side of the roadway into his lane of travel. He applied his brake in an attempt to avoid collision with the deer, but was unsuccessful. Mr. Williams struck the deer with the front portion of his motorcycle. Mr. Williams was transported to Regional Medical Center for injuries he sustained in the collision. Trooper Derek Smith investigated the accident and was assisted on the scene by Nortonville Rescue Squad 2, South Hopkins Fire Department, and Med Center EMS.
