Injury Collision on KY 176 becomes Fatality in Muhlenberg County

(Madisonville, KY) - On March 3, 2008 at approximately 8:30 p.m., Terrie Poole succumbed to her injuries and passed away due to injuries sustained in the crash. The investigation is continuing by the Kentucky State Police.

(Madisonville, KY) - Terrie Poole was operating a 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix eastbound on KY 176. Paul McKinney was operating a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser westbound on KY 176. Teresa Baskerville was operating a 1994 Chevrolet Camero westbound on KY 176 traveling behind Mr. McKinney's vehicle. As Ms. Poole's vehicle topped a hill, her vehicle crossed into the westbound lane. Her vehicle side-swiped Mr. McKinney's vehicle and struck Ms. Baskerville's vehicle head-on. Mr. McKinney's vehicle exited off the right shoulder of the roadway and struck a fence before coming to rest. The other two vehicles came to rest on the roadway. Ms. Poole was flown to Owensboro Mercy for treatment. She was not wearing a seatbelt. Mr. McKinney was wearing a seatbelt and did not sustain any injuries. Ms. Baskerville was transported by ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. She was wearing a seatbelt.
