Injury Collision Involving a School Bus in Dixon, KY

Dixon, KY (Webster County) - Jordan Davis age 17 of Clay, KY was operating a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix eastbound on KY 1340. Jody Hedgepath age 58 of Morganfield, KY was operating a 2007 International School Bus westbound on KY 1340. As Mr. Davis' vehicle was traveling through a curve covered with slush, he applied his brakes. Mr. Davis lost control of his vehicle and it crossed the centerline striking the bus on the front, left corner. The school bus exited off the shoulder of the roadway and struck several trees. Mr. Davis' vehicle exited off the shoulder of the roadway and traveled into a ditch. The passenger in Mr. Davis' vehicle, Trevor Shoulders age 15 of Clay, KY, was transported by ambulance to Methodist Hospital in Henderson, KY for treatment. There were 13 children on the school bus; however, no injuries were reported. Mr. Davis, Mr. Shoulders and Ms. Hedgepath were wearing seatbelts. Tpr. Billy Sumner investigated the crash that occurred on February 15, 2008 at 9:31 a.m. The Webster County Sheriff's Department, Webster County EMS and Webster County Emergency Management assisted at the scene.
