Injury Collision on KY 70 at KY 85 in Hopkins County

(Hopkins County) - Mr. Curtis A. Shelton was traveling westbound on KY 70 when he came to the intersection of KY 85. He attempted to stop at the stop sign, but slid passed it into the middle of the intersection. Mr. Shelton attempted to back out of the intersection prior to the collision but was unable to do so. At the same time, Mr. James H. Sharp was traveling eastbound on KY 85 and as he approached Mr. Shelton's vehicle he applied his brakes in an attempt to avoid the collision but was unable to do so. The vehicles collided in the intersection causing minor to moderate injuries to both drivers (Curtis A. Shelton & James H. Sharp) and all passengers (Oneida K. Shelton, Brenda F. Sharp & Steve D. O'Bannon). Medical Center Ambulance Service transported all of the occupants of both vehicles to Regional Medical Center in Madisonville for treatment of their injuries.
