2008 KSP Holiday Enforcement

(Hickory, KY) - The Kentucky State Police are gearing up for the upcoming Christmas holiday and want to remind all drivers to do their part in keeping Kentucky's roadways a safe place to travel. Beginning Friday, December 19th, Troopers at the Mayfield Post will begin saturated patrols in high crash areas across the post. Troopers will also be watching for speeding violators, occupant restraint violators, and DUI drivers. Below are just a few of the roadways in which KSP will be targeting this weekend.

  • KY 121 (Calloway County)
  • KY 116 (Fulton County)
  • KY 1283 (Graves County)
  • KY 307 (Hickman County)
  • KY 402 (Marshall County)

In addition to these secondary roadways, Interstate 24 and the Purchase Parkway will be heavily patrolled. It is the goal of Kentucky State Police to reduce fatal and injury collisions this holiday season which runs through Thursday, January 1st. Throughout this two-week period, Kentucky State Police will partner with Commercial Vehicle Enforcement to conduct traffic safety checkpoints in McCracken, Livingston, and Fulton Counties. Local sheriff's and police departments will work with Kentucky State Police at these safety checkpoints to see that all motorists get to and from their destinations safely this holiday season.
