Fatal Collision at the Intersection of Dunkerson Road & Barefield Road

(Mayfield, KY) - Douglas Curtis was stopped at the intersection of Dunkerson Road and Barefield Road, facing west. As Mr. Curtis proceeded across Barefield Road, his vehicle was struck in the driver's side by another vehicle, driven by Ethan Taylor, who was traveling North on Barefield Road. Mr. Curtis was transported to Trigg County Hospital were he was pronounced deceased by the Trigg County Coroner. A passenger in Mr. Curtis's vehicle, Annette Smilie, was flown by Air Evac to Vanderbilt Medical Center for treatment. Neither occupant of Mr. Taylor's vehicle was injured. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Jonathan Paull, who was assisted by Trigg County EMS, Trigg County Rescue, Trigg County Sheriffs Office and Air Evac. /p>
