Criminal Investigation & Arrest in Marshall County

(Hickory, KY) - On 7-25-2008, Trooper TJ Williams stopped a vehicle on I 24 Eastbound, at the 19 mile marker, for a traffic violation. During the roadside interview, indicators of criminal activity were present. Search of the vehicle was conducted and drug paraphernalia was located in the driver's door. Trooper Williams confronted subject and asked him to remove his hand from pant pocket, for a complete search of his person. At this time Mr. Terry W. Leece pulled away from Trooper Williams and presented an item from his pocket, which he then threw across the Interstate and could not be recovered. A further search of the vehicle produced numerous credit cards, checks, and purses. All items were discovered stolen after contact was made to Champagne and Danville, Illinois Police agencies, that had active cases for items Trooper Williams recovered. Mr. Leece was arrested by Trooper Williams and lodged in the Marshall County Detention Center. Mr. Leece was charged with Speeding, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Receiving Stolen Property under 300, Tampering with Physical Evidence.
