Update to the Rape Investigation and Arrests in Trigg County

(Cadiz, KY) - On Thursday, May 29th, Kentucky State Police detectives arrested two more individuals in connection to the rape of a 16 year old girl in Cadiz, Kentucky over the Memorial Day weekend. After further investigation into the incident, arrest warrants were obtained for Horace Street, 18, and Dhayna Cavanaugh, 20, both from Cadiz. Both men were charged with Rape 1st degree and lodged in the Christian County Jail. The investigation is continuing by Kentucky State Police Detective Michelle Kent.

(Cadiz, KY) - On Tuesday May 27, 2008, the Kentucky State Police received information regarding the rape of a sixteen year old female over the Memorial Day Weekend. The investigation was initiated by the Cadiz Police Department on Sunday May 25, 2008. Once the investigation began, the Cadiz Police Department requested for the Kentucky State Police to assume the investigation upon learning more than one crime scene existed, one of which was located outside of the city limits.

The Kentucky State Police, Trigg County Sheriff's Department, and the Cadiz Police Department executed search warrants at two separate locations in Trigg County that related to the investigation. After executing the search warrants and conducting several interviews, the following individuals were arrested and transported to the Christian County Jail.

Rape in the first degree is a class B felony punishable by not less than 10 nor more than 20 years in prison under the Kentucky Revised Statues. Sodomy in the first degree is a class B felony punishable by not less than 10 nor more than 20 years in prison under the Kentucky Revised Statues.

At this time, Marcus Mayes currently remains lodged in the Christian County Jail. Nicholas King, Christopher Futrell, Michael "Chase" Oakley, and Devon Morris have been released by the court with a signed surety bond of $20,000. The investigation is continuing by Detective Michelle Kent with the Kentucky State Police.
