Perjury-First Degree Investigation and Arrest in Ballard County

(Hickory, KY) - Kentucky State Police arrested Rosie Crice (27) of LaCenter today, charging her with Perjury 1st Degree. The offense of Perjury is a Class D felony punishable by 1 to 5 years in prison. Ms. Crice testified under oath on April 1,2008 in Hickman Circuit Court, for the prosecution, in the murder case of Commonwealth of Kentucky vs. Quincy Omar Cross; and she subsequently testified again, while under oath, for the defense on April 3, 2008, stating that she had previously lied under oath on April 1st. The perjury charge pertains to this series of testimony.
Ms. Crice was previously convicted, and sentenced on December 11, 2007 in Ballard Circuit Court (# 07-CR-00079) for Possession of Controlled Substance-1st Degree (cocaine) and Drug Paraphernalia-1st Offense. She received a five (5) year and twelve-month sentence respectively in this case, which was suspended upon her successful completion of Drug Court. That case was investigated by the Ballard County Sheriff's Department and the Kentucky State Police.
Ms. Crice was lodged today in the Ballard County Jail. The investigation is continuing by Detective Michelle Kent of the Kentucky State Police.
