Drug Arrest in Graves County

(Hickory, KY) - On 04-16-2008 Kentucky State Police Post 1, Mayfield received a complaint of a burglary in progress at 295 Gardner Road in southern Graves County. KSP troopers and Graves County Sheriff's deputies arrived and found that the front and back door of the residence were open. A search of the house yielded no suspects.
While at the residence a 2002 Dodge pickup passed by that troopers recognized as the occupants of the residence. Trooper Clark and Trooper Brett Miller followed the vehicle for approximately 1 mile and the pickup stopped at the intersection of US 45 and Gardner Road and parked the vehicle. Trooper Clark noticed an open container of beer in the vehicle and asked passenger Shannon M. Farmer to exit the vehicle. Upon further investigation Mrs. Farmer was placed under arrest for Possession of Controlled Substance 1st degree (methamphetamine), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 1st offense, and Wanton Endangerment 1st degree. Tpr. Miller placed the driver, Daniel W. Farmer, under arrest for Possession of Controlled Substance 1st, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 1st offense, DUI 1st offense, Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, Prescription Controlled Substance not in Proper Container, Wanton Endangerment 1st degree, Illegally Possessing a Legend Drug, and Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd degree, 1st offense. All of the drug charges are firearm enhanced due to the discovery of a .45 caliber handgun located in a custom-made compartment under the dashboard of the truck.
