Theft Investigation and Arrest

Date of News Release: 03/24/2008

(Mayfield, KY) - A Paducah man is in jail after being been charged with the theft of multiple flatbed utility trailers. In January of 2008, Kentucky State Police received a complaint from the pastor of a Graves County Church regarding a stolen flatbed trailer. The complainant stated that his church had recently had a trailer stolen and he thought he had located it in southern Graves County. Trooper Thomas Clifton began an investigation into the complaint and confirmed that the trailer located was indeed the one stolen from the church in Graves County. After further investigation, Trooper Clifton traced the trailer back to Mark W. Mannon of Paducah, KY. After two months of investigation, Trooper Clifton recovered ten more trailers that had allegedly been stolen by Mannon. Some of these trailers had been stolen from Kentucky as well as Illinois, Missouri, and Tennessee. This morning Trooper Clifton arrested Mark Mannon, charging him with ten counts of Receiving Stolen Property Over $300.00. Mannon, 44, was lodged in the McCracken County Jail. The investigation is continuing by Kentucky State Police Trooper Thomas Clifton.
