America's Most Wanted Fugitive Captured in Lyon County Kentucky
Date of News Release: 03/16/2008
(Kuttawa, KY) An America's Most Wanted Fugitive has been arrested in Lyon County after his story aired last night. On Saturday, March 15th, information regarding Mark A. Earhart was released on the television show, America's Most Wanted. Mark Earhart was wanted out of Stewart County Tennessee for Sexual Assault of a Child. Earhart had also previously been convicted of a sexual offense in New Hampshire and failed to register with the Tennessee Sexual Offender Registry. Earhart was due in a Tennessee court room on March 4th for a hearing regarding both charges. Earhart was a no-show for his court appearance and fled the area.
On the evening of March 15th, after seeing Mark Earhart's story air on America's Most Wanted, an anonymous caller from the Paducah community phoned the Paducah Police Department with information on the whereabouts of Earhart. Paducah Police Detective David White followed up on the information and determined that Earhart might be living in Lyon County. With this information, Detective White contacted the Kentucky State Police in Mayfield to advise them of the information he had received. Further investigation by Kentucky State Police yielded a street address believed to belong to Mark Earhart. At around midnight on March 16th, Troopers with the Kentucky State Police and Lyon County Sheriff's Deputies traveled to a residence on KY Highway 93 in Kuttawa where they located the suspected fugitive. Earhart was arrested at his home and charged with being a Fugitive From Justice. Earhart was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail. A bond has not been set for Earhart at this time. Earhart, 42, was arrested by Trooper Jonathan Paull with the Kentucky State Police. The investigation is continuing by the Kentucky State Police in conjunction with the Paducah Police Department.
