Injury Collision on Interstate 24 in Lyon County

(Lyon County) - Kentucky State Police received a 911 call from a traveler advising of a single vehicle accident close to the Caldwell and Lyon County line on Interstate 24. Units were dispatched to the scene around 6:44 A.M., with negative contact in locating a traffic accident. Further investigation led to the discovery of collision debris at a bridge on I-24 near the 53 1/2 mile marker. Troopers and Vehicle Enforcement Officers located the 1997 Chevorlet Lumina off US 62 near Kuttawa at 0839 hours. Further investigation revealed that the driver Enos Parks struck a bridge and fled the scene before police arrived. The driver was arrested and charged with the following offenses: (1) DUI-1st Offense; (2) Leaving the Scene of an Accident; (3) Operating on a Suspended License; (4) Failure to Surrender Revoked/Suspended License; (5) Possession of Marijuana; and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia-1st Offense. He was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Chris Smith of the Kentucky State Police.
