Attempted Murder Investigation in Smithland, KY

(Smithland, KY) - On Friday, January 18, at approximately 9:30 A.M., Kentucky State Police received a 911 call from a residence on US Highway 60 in Smithland. The caller stated that Donnie Ramage was outside shooting a gun into the house. Upon arrival of the Kentucky State Police and the Livingston County Sheriff's Department, officers located Mr. Ramage attempting to gain entry into an out building behind the residence. Mr. Ramage, who at that time was armed with a large knife, obeyed officer's demands to drop the weapon and was subsequently taken into custody without further incident.
Mr. Ramage was transported by ambulance to Lourdes Hospital for non life threatening injuries.
After the preliminary investigation was conducted by Kentucky State Police, Donnie Ramage was arrested for violation of a Kentucky domestic violence order, burglary 1st degree, (2) counts of attempted murder, and (4) counts of wanton endangerment 1st degree. Mr. Ramage was lodged in the McCracken County Detention center on a $171,000 cash bond.
The Kentucky State Police were assisted at the scene by the Livingston County Sheriff's Office. The investigation is continuing by Detective Dean Patterson with the Kentucky State Police.
