September Activity Report From Post 15

(Columbia, KY) - During the month of September 2008, there were 40 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington.

There were two fatalities:
DAVID F. SHARP, Lebanon, Kentucky was killed in Marion County on 09/28/08, and
RAYMOND H. TINCHER, Burnside, KY was killed in Taylor County on 09/27/08.

This brings our yearly fatality count to 32 compared with 35 through this same period in 2007.

State wide fatality count stands at 576 compared with 653 through this same period in 2007.

During the month of September 2008, there were 1,274 citations written, 347 courtesy notices written, 2,717 vehicles inspected, 975 complaints answered, 60 motorists assisted, 85 criminal cases opened and 406 criminal arrests made.
