August Activity Report From Post 15

Date of News Release: 09/03/2008

(Columbia, KY) - During the month of August 2008, there were 42 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington.

There were three fatalities:
LANDON GOOTEE, Lebanon, Kentucky, was killed in Marion County on 08/23/08,
BEVERLY D. HOLLINS, Greensburg, Kentucky was killed in Green County on 08/22/08, and
RICHARD S. RAWLINGS, Campbellsville, KY was killed in Taylor County on 08/30/08.

This brings our yearly fatality count to 30 compared with 27 through this same period in 2007.

State wide fatality count stands at 516 compared with 567 through this same period in 2007.

During the month of August 2008, there were 1,545 citations written, 405 courtesy notices written, 3,262 vehicles inspected, 1,021 complaints answered, 55 motorists assisted, 69 criminal cases opened and 383 criminal arrests made.
