July Activity Report From Post 15

(Columbia, KY) - During the month of July 2008, there were 48 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington.

There were five fatalities:
JEFREY D. GLASS, Springfield, Kentucky, was killed in Washington County on 07/08/08,
ALICIA E. GOTTEE, Loretto, Kentucky was killed in Marion County on 07/03/08,
JONATHAN M. BRUCKERT, Campbellsville, KY was killed in Taylor County on 07/18/08,
KAYLEIGH P. HORN, Berea, Kentucky was killed in Russell County on 07/19/08, and
KATHLEEN K. DEVASHER, Russellville, Kentucky was killed in Russell County on 07/19/08.

This brings our yearly fatality count to 26 compared with 20 through this same period in 2007.

State wide fatality count stands at 435 compared with 500 through this same period in 2007.

During the month of July 2008, there were 1,247 citations written, 384 courtesy notices written, 2,105 vehicles inspected, 1,062 complaints answered, 68 motorists assisted, 74 criminal cases opened and 270 criminal arrests made.
