Double Homicide Investigation and Arrest in Monroe County

(Columbia, KY) - On July 20, 2008, at approximately 0842 hours, Post 15 Columbia received a call from Monroe County Dispatch in reference to a possible double homicide which had occurred at 1498 Sulphur Lick Road. The first KSP Unit arrived at 0844 hours and discovered the bodies of 29 year old Nicholas Butler, of 896 Poplar Log Church Road, Tompkinsville, and 47 year old Jackie Eubank, the owner of the residence. Upon investigation, Detective Israel Slinker arrested Paul Howard Walden, age 39, of 1008 Columbia, Ave, Apt 9, Tompkinsville. Mr. Walden was charged with 2 counts of First Degree Murder and lodged in the Monroe County Jail. Autopsies are pending and the investigation is continuing by Detective Israel Slinker.
