April Monthly Activity From Post 15

(Columbia, KY) - During the month of April 2008, there were 37 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington.
There were five fatalities:
GEORGE SEXTON, St. Wayne, IL., was killed in Metcalfe County on 04/02/08,
EDDIE A. PROPES, Yosemite, Kentucky was killed in Taylor County on 04/16/08,
TIMOTHY L. ALLEY, Columbia, Kentucky was killed in Taylor County on 04/16/08,
WENDELL ELLIS CREEK, Gamaliel, Kentucky was killed in Monroe County on 04/20/08, and
VIRIGINIA GLIDEWELL, Albany, Kentucky was killed in Clinton County on 04/28/08.
This brings our yearly fatality count to 16 compared with 11 through this same period in 2007.
State wide fatality count stands at 224 compared with 262 through this same period in 2007.
During the month of April 2008, there were 1,225 citations written, 275 courtesy notices written, 1,997 vehicles inspected, 1,031 complaints answered, 108 motorists assisted, 80 criminal cases opened and 309 criminal arrests made.
