December Monthly Activity From Post 15

(Columbia, KY) - During the month of December 2007, there were 38 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington.

There were four fatalities:
BOBBY O. RICHARDS, Columbia, Kentucky, was killed in Russell County on 12/14/07,
TRISTAN K. MITCHELL, Edmonton, Kentucky was killed in Metcalfe County on 12/15/07,
GEORGE T. SALYERS, JR., Columbia, Kentucky was killed in Adair County on 12/19/07,
MARY KATE MOORE, Greensburg, Kentucky was killed in Green County on 12/23/07.

This brings our yearly fatality count to 47 compared with 61 through this same period in 2006.

State wide fatality count stands at 855 compared with 913 through this same period in 2006.

During the month of December 2007, there were 1,122 citations written, 224 courtesy notices written, 1,251 vehicles inspected, 915 complaints answered, 77 motorists assisted, 46 criminal cases opened and 294 criminal arrests made.
