Armed Robbery Arrest in Boyd County

(Ashland, KY) - Kentucky State Police have arrested a Catlettsburg resident in connection with the January 30, 2008 armed robbery of the Clarks Pump and Shop on US 60 near the Boyd / Carter County line. After an extensive joint investigation with the Catlettsburg Police Department and Boyd County Sheriff's Department, the Kentucky State Police obtained an arrest warrant for McKenzie and subsequently arrested him without incident on US 60 in Coalton.

Additional charges may be pending from Catlettsburg Police and Boyd County Sheriffs Department. McKenzie may be responsible for other armed robberies in the local area including in West Virginia.

The investigation is continuing by Trooper Brad Simmons.
