Shooting occurs at Lost Creek in Perry County

(Hazard, KY) - On 07/08/08 Kentucky State Police received a call from Perry County 911 of a possible shooting at Rolling Ridge Drive in the Lost Creek community of Perry County.

Kentucky State Police and Perry County EMS arrived at the scene and discovered Samuel Brashear age 52 and his wife Tamela Brashear age 41 lying inside their residence with gunshot wounds. Preliminary investigation indicates that a verbal argument between the two parties escalated and Samuel obtained a handgun, shot his wife and then shot himself. Both subjects were transported to the Hazard ARH. Samuel was later transported to the University of Kentucky Medical Center. No charges have been filed at this time and the investigation is continuing by Det. Gary Sandlin.
