Murder Occurs in Letcher County

(Hazard, KY) - On 04/12/08 at approximately 05:43 a.m. Kentucky State Police received a 911 call from a female requesting the police to respond to a residence in Jenkins, KY. The caller stated that she thinks she has located blood there and she's afraid something has happened.

Police responded and in fact located blood at the location.

The investigation led police to a deceased male in Pike County. The victim was identified as Ralph Marcum age 70 of Neon, KY. The investigation has also led to three individuals being arrested and charged in connection with the death of Mr. Marcum. John W. Pigg age 37 of Thornton, KY was charged with Murder. Christina Collins age 31 of Millstone, KY and Lloyd S. Pigg age 37 of Jenkins, KY were charged with Complicity To Commit Murder. The victim has been taken to the Medical Examiners Office in Frankfort to determine the cause of death. The investigation continues by Det. Clayton Stamper with the Kentucky State Police. More charges are possible pending a Letcher County Grand Jury.
