Single Vehicle Collision Occurs in Leslie County

(Hazard, KY) - On 02/23/08 at approximately 11:55 a.m. Kentucky State Police received a 911 call of a single vehicle accident on HWY 406 in the Essie Community of Leslie County.

EMS and State Police arrived at the scene to find Robert D. Smith age 43 of Roark, Ky. had lost control of his vehicle and overturned. The operator was ejected as the vehicle overturned several times.

The victim was transported to the Manchester Memorial Hospital and then on to University of Kentucky Medical Center. The Fayette County Coroner pronounced Smith deceased on 02/24/08. No seat belts were in use at the time of the accident and they were no passengers in the vehicle. The investigation is continuing by Tpr. Chris Frazier.
