KSP Looking for Stolen Trailer and Three Remote Control Airplane

Kentucky State Police (Post 12 Frankfort) is asking the public for help in recovering a stolen trailer and three remote control airplanes. The theft occurred in Spencer County on September 22, 2008 in the early morning. Unknown subject or subjects stole the trailer with remote airplanes inside it from the Finish Line Automotive located on KY 55 in Taylorsville, KY.

On September 22, 2008 Post 12 started it investigation on the stolen trailer and three remote control airplanes. Investigators believe that it possible that the thieves were unaware at the time of the theft the airplanes where inside the trailer.

The trailer is described as a 6 x 10 single axle box trailer. The trailer is all white with white rims with a single door on the front right side. There are two double doors open to the rear. Inside the trailer is a self built shelf made of approximately 1" angle iron frame welded together with a single cross member. The shelf runs horizontilly across the full width of the trailer with a cut out on the right side located at the front door.

Remote control airplane (#1) Manufacturer of the kit - Carden Aircraft, Model Extra 330, 40% size (appx 110" total length from nose to tail), wings are two piece and individually would be approximately 55" in length per side. The plane is finished in a TOYOTA scheme with red and yellow as the primary colors.

Remote Control Airplane #2: Manufacturer of kit - Composite ARF, Model Yak 55, 2.6 Meter size (appx 95" from nose to tail), wings are two pieces and individually would be approximately 48" in length per side. The plane is finished in red, blue and yellow and has two metallic greenish vinyl stickers on the bottom of each in a starburst pattern. The vinyl graphics are not part of the original composite structure and will be unique to that plane. The airplane was equipped with the following equipment: 28"x10 Mejzlik carbon fiber propeller, 5.5" TBM brand carbon fiber spinner. The motor is a Desert Aircraft 100cc twin opposed cylinder gas motor with electronic ignition and JTech Exhaust. Radio equipment consists of 2xFutaba PCM 168DP Receivers, 9xHiTec HS-5995 digital servos, Fromeco Batteries - Lithium Ion 3x2400mah, 3x Fromeco Voltage Regulators. Additional assorted hardware located all over the plane used to connect servos to control surfaces.

Remote Control Airplane (#3) Manufacturer of kit - Extreme Flight, Model Yak 54, 87" size (appx 78" from nose to tail), wings are two piece and individually would be appx 40" in length per side. The plane is finished in red, blue and yellow. Custom HiTec graphics on wings and "team DDD" graphics on the cowl will uniquely identify this plane. The vinyl graphics are not part of the original finish and will be unique to that plane.

The airplane was equipped with the following equipment: 23"x8 Menz 23"x8 wood propeller, 3.5" Dave Brown brand aluminum spinner. The motor is a Desert Aircraft 50cc single cylinder gas motor with electronic ignition and stock Desert Aircraft Exhaust. Radio equipment consists of 1xFutaba PCM 168DP Receivers, 7xHiTec HS-5945 digital servos, Fromeco Batteries - Lithium Ion 1x2600mah and 1x2400mah, 2x Fromeco Voltage Regulators. Additional assorted hardware located all over the plane used to connect servos to control surfaces.
